The PLS-CADD LiDAR software is one of the most widely used by electrical engineers to design and analyse power lines considering all the parameters that affect them, such as cable material, wind and temperature, among others. In this way, we can use the LiDAR data as an input data that gives us the current situation and from there obtain a 3D simulation of the power line in the worst case scenario (at maximum wind and maximum operating temperature).

3D utility mapping services

Dielmo3D has extensive experience in generating full 2D and 3D utility mapping and power lines design of overhead transmission and distribution.

Almost any network feature can be vectorized and designed in 3D using accurate LiDAR point clouds. From fast catenary drawing to highly detailed and complex 3D utility mapping design and network models containing insulators, guy wires, stapling pints, phases of the main conductor, etc.

3D power lines can also be imported into PLS-CADD to reduce costs when modelling lines in different weather case scenarios (temperature, wind, icing, etc.).
